The date is set…

I have been going through so much in the last little while, hence why I’ve been quite the silent person of late.

I’m still a bit reserved about some of the details but i can say this….it will be a much needed break.  I remember years ago I would go on this long drive, meet some friends and camp on this private land for a week.  First rule, “Watch comes off at the gate.”  It was a good rule.  Times have changed but if this break was to camp, I would welcome turning off any tech because after a week in the wilds, I was quite recharged.  I seemed to always come home with this perma-smile that lasted two weeks at least.  I gained an insane amount of perspective on life and looked forward to the next year again.

I realized that what I’m about to do is the same.  It is just time to be me.  No limits. No significant concerns.  Just me being me.  A “getting away from it all” deal.  Maybe ask my ranting had been due to not having any real “me time”.  Maybe not.  That is a big part of why I’m doing this.  I need to know something.  Something about me.  How this will be done….not sure yet.  Oh I got some ideas but I’m working hard not to force my future into a particular box. I want this to flow as it should, not as I wish it.  I need to “ride the Dragon”, to borrow a phrase. I’m going to give up control so that I may have a clear vision of the path before me.

In doing so, I consider this a ritual of sorts and a ritual has certain requirements to be done.  This event in my life had been marked in a way I will never forget.  There have been so many things that has happened to make this possible that I’m nearly stunned at how easy it has been to set up.  The insane amount of good fortune is awe inspiring.  Theses are the things you need to pay attention to in order to realize that you are exactly where you should be and your desires become manifest.

Soul Mates?

Do you believe in them?  Sure the idea in bandied about in stories and movies but how many of you actually believe in them?  I’m willing to bet you believe more in the idea than the actual possibility.

The idea kinda goes like this:

Two people, born at some significant distance (either physical or social) and when they meet, they feel like they were made for each other.

Sounds like a typical Hollywood trope right?  One thing about Hollywood, they do exaggerate ideas and stories well beyond their original intent/actual instance .

I believed in the concept as well.  I mean, there is always something useful in the idea of hoping that such a thing existed. Indeed, since man cannot create something s/he has never experienced, there would seen to be an indication that there is some level of truth to this concept.

So, what are the odds of you finding someone who who truly your compliment?  You could say 1 in 7 Billion but that would mean you swing both ways sexually.  So lets seed if we can cut that down.  Giving a roughly even population of men/women, you are down to 1 in 14  Billion.

“wait, shouldn’t that number go down?”  I originally thought so to but considering that cutting out half the population means you have to work twice as hard to find that exact person seems to make more sense because they are not likely sitting right next to you.

We can probably pair that down further into an age group because some 90 year old woman isn’t going to fall madly in love with a 2 year old boy.  So what do you think….30% of the population is within a reasonable age-appropriate striking range? (you might want consider the unwritten rule on 1/2+7 for age that is socially acceptable).   So where does that leave us?

14 billion * 1.3 = 18.2 Billion (yeesh … Those odds are starring to get worse than a lotto…).

So now what?  We could factor in the time it would take you to search the world and hope the soul-mate doesn’t die of old age before you find then.  I’ll keep it simple and just double the odds.

1 in 36.4 Billion*.

Hey you know, I bet if you played the Lotto and win, your “soul mate” would just show up!

*note: 78.5% of all numbers are made up on the spot.

Ok, let me give you the real odds now.  50/50.  Either it will happen or it won’t.

I will also say this:  I found mine.  The circumstance around it are complicated and would be seen as truly bizarre if you looked at it from a certain point of view.  Hell, even my mind still had a hard time with it but if you went back to my post on levels, the situation make absolutely perfect sense on a spiritual level.

What does it feel like to know a soul-mate?  Not what Hollywood says. The feeling is different, deeper, much more profound.  Sure there are emotions but if you are aware enough on how life works, and both mature and wise enough, the full meaning of it defies logic or reason. It gets into the realm of the esoteric and that simply cannot be defined.

I think the Oracle from the Matrix put it best though.

Being the One is like being in love. No one can tell you are in love, you just know you’re in love. Through and through.  Balls to bone.

Just swap out “love” with “with your soul mate”.

This is not a one sided equation.  This only works when it is reciprocated by the other person.  That is the kicker.

Now this thing about odds….utter bullshit.  The saying “when the student is ready, the master will appear.” applies to finding your soul-mate and you cannot put odds on something like that.  The only thing you can do is to learn about how life works, and how you can apply it to yourself.  You do this and a massive world of possibilities come rushing in.  You just be damn ready to handle the in-rush of positive stress and do NOT let your old, negative bullshit keep you from growing!

Who are you?

To me, this is the single most important question that could ever be asked, ever be considered and hardest one to answer.

What answer can you give that does not use words which rely on other things to define them? For example, “I am a mechanic.” No, no you are not. You work as one, you have skills as one, but if you look up the up the definition if one, I do not see you’re picture there.

“I am a mother.” No, again you are not. You are in the role of a mother but your picture does not grace the pages of the Oxford Dictionary.

“I’m a human being.” Ooooh, now we are getting close but still, how true is that statement? After the first two examples does that statement hold true.

Do you know who you are?

Deja-vu

That feeling you’ve seen something before.  Not to be confused with “Deja-rue”(I’ve been down this road before) or the more famous “Deja-moo”(I think I’ve seen that cow before).

I’ve heard many explanations, like it’s just your brain seeing information in the wrong order.  Yet the ones I have experienced have been nothing short of mind-blowing at times.  They range from “that is awfully damn familiar” to the feeling that I literally just walked into my body.

Some claim prescient.  I look at them as metaphysical road signs that I am on the right track.  There was never any consistency or regularity with my experiences.  They just happened whenever.  I can’t even remember when the last one happened and I’ll probably never get around to writing them down.  I just go by what my intuition says when they happen.

For me, when they do happen, I feel like I literally just walked into my body. Not as in bumped into but as in I just spiritually made a physical connection to it. Like I just put on a wetsuit but more like pushed into it. The more aware of this sensation, the stronger the meaning I believe.

Still, something to note and watch. Patterns tell all.

You are not on the level

There are 3 basic levels on which you can talk about for any given subject. Physical, mental, spiritual.

The first, and most obvious, is the one we know the most. This means when you are talking with someone you take everything at “face value”. Funny how our language mimics life in it’s true form huh? At this level there is only one consideration. What you see. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it must be a duck!

The mental level gets much more interesting. This is the level where you begin to be more discerning. Things like “Wait. What’s a duck doing in my living room? Am I dreaming?” You start paying attention to details. You try to analyze things, take them apart and see what makes them tick. The vast majority of scientists and hackers reside in this realm.

Then there is the spiritual level. This can be likened to being an observer of events. Where you “step outside of your situation and look at it as if you were completely detached, or rather attached in a much grander scale. Here you can see yourself arguing with someone and take notes in how things interact. Subtle things that become blindingly obvious but get completely missed on the previous levels because they can only deal with their own levels.

The spiritual level is easily identifiable when you are in a deep conversation with someone and they say something that just stops you dead in your tracks. You are whacked in the head with a sudden sense if profound meaning. A Truth is spoken and it’s like a gong going off in your soul.

Another way is to realize that everything on any given level had a mirroring aspect on another level. For example meta-learning. This is where you learn how you learn while you are learning! It is the mental equivalent of being a spiritual observer.

On a physical level such mirroring is different but still the same in essence. Here you would use terms like macro-scale and micro-scale. The planets in our solar system rotate around our sun. Our little galaxy rotates around the Milky Way galactic core. Our atoms circle around a nucleus. These are no small coincidences.

So as a reasonably enlightened person, I would say physical, mental, spiritual. Someone who has a greater affinity for the mental might use point/vector/plane while a person devoted to religion might use father/son/holy ghost. Nicola Tesla liked to use  ‘If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.’

Which do you use?
